The Spanish Settlers arrived on November 19th, 1493. Christobal Columbus arrived and colonized the island baptizing the name San Juan Bautista. The City name of San Juan is derived from Saint John the Baptist.
La Fuente De La Herencia, clearly is a depiction that gives us insight on religion, and how it fundamentally changed the lives of aboriginal settler who first arrived in Puerto Rico.
The religious personalities shown in the statue, the Franciscan and Dominican friars, An early epoch were many chapels and sanctuaries were built as means to empower not just religion, but to convert and protect the lives of those who had carried a belief far different from the principle foundation of Christianity.

The town of Aguada was the initial landing of Christobal Columbus on the second voyager on November 19th, 1493. Today the town is known for having baptized the first monastery "La Ermita del Espinar de Aguada"also known as "La Cuidad del Descubrimiento".
