Before sunrise in the old San Juan City. Mr. De Leon begins the day by replenishing Pastries directly and freshly made from the oven. The aromatic smell and well-manicured deli cases as he calls it, Neatly and so perfectly prepared, much like a stack of Pinballs in a Bowling alley. Yes, an eye-catching concept he learned from his early beginnings working at the El San Juan Hotel.
This Native Puerto-Rican, born in New York City, the well-spoken man, jovial in character who sits behind the magic counter, known to many as “Walter” Yes, the man who brings out tenacity along with joy and happiness to his local customers. One day he had a dream to start his own business. His earlier beginnings allowed him to grow and gain valuable experience, He quickly mustered such valuable skills that allowed him to launch his first business.
So, in 2017, Mr. De Leon open his first establishment, and he named it “El Mavi”, his business flourish at first, but sadly the devastation of Hurricane Maria sadly prompted him to sell his business. He immediately wasted and continued working as a tour guide, a passion he has always kept in his heart. A job he has cherish for many years and still continues to mesmerize his clients with tell-tale stories of the Island and Puerto Rico Culture.
So, in 2024, with diligent planning, a beacon of hope and a new reawaken had suddenly emerge. Walter De Leon galloped and with the support of friends and family, Orabori open its doors in July 2024.
