PREFACE

Old San Juan managed for centuries to subdue the Nations of England, Holland and France who began conquering as many possible islands in the Caribbean including Puerto Rico. 

As we take you on a journey through "El Castillo del Morro" which lies on the entrance of the San Juan bay. The massive ruins protected the islet of San Juan from pirates and other European powers eagerly wanting to to control Puerto Rico.

For centuries Spanish soldiers defended the island with valianty and courage for centuries.  Throught multiple battles and victories spain managed to fully control Puerto Rico.

In 1898, a new era emerges as Puerto Rico becomes an American territory once spain had finally annexed both cuba and puerto rico to the united states.

One could only imagine centuries ago when the explosives of cannons and mortars lingered through the air as defenders faced surmountable challenges by the enemy. Hidden tunnels combined with vaulted chambers played a vital role adding prowess to Spain's military arsenal in ways never foreseen, many hidden explosives elusively placed in concealed grooves below hidden tunnels ready to detonate when needed.
