PRELUDE
Let's take you back to Spanish Colonial time. The 16th century era better known as the age of exploration. Spain along other European countries began colonizing and conquering territories throughout the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico.

In doing so, the spread of religion. wealth and glory became the primary reasons for their attempts to conquer and colonize territories in the Caribbean.

For many centuries, Spain and it's military soldiers wagered many battles as they flocked together with optimal courage to out-maneuvered the enemy as best they could, amidst all the challenges endured confronting the adversary powers of England, France, and the Dutch. Spain gained complete control of the island of Puerto Rico for centuries to come.

Along the walking tour, you will learn commentary facts on architectural features from the 16th century. Landmarks like the Cathedral of John Baptist", founded in 1521, currently the oldest existing catholic church still in existence. The roll of Conquistador Juan ponce de leon as first governor of the island.
